Twenty Years! Who would have thought our little show celebrating outsider folk and visionary art would be in its twentieth year. I think it is that this type of art has no pretension, it is honest no matter what the content. I hope
this show reflects the entire concept of the gallery: passion, excitement, humor, and integrity.
This year we have many of your long time favorites returning: Sherry Pardee, Angela Usrey, Paul Hart, Hand and Heart, Ellison Art Studio, Outback and many others.
New this year is opera singer and neighbor Martha Cares as well as Dick Dahlstrom, who does shingle fish and junk yard vehicles, Lynne Bailey will also be here. She is one of the original collectors of outsider art in Chicago and specialized in prison art. Bud Weinert, who is a character, will be here with his ever interesting collections.
Come and enjoy the music of Slim Gypsy Baggage opening night, and a silent auction of a Paul Backus sculpture, with all proceeds going to the Harbor Country Food Pantry. Our bar beneficiary this year is the Michiana Humane Society, thanks to our good friend,
Johanna Humbert, the Executive Director.
One last word—this year our show is in memory of our good friend, Jimmy Hedges. The ultimate southern gentleman, Jimmy was loved and will be terribly missed by all who knew him.
Preview party will be Friday August 29th 6 to 9 pm, tickets are 20$.
You get a full weekend pass, the first look at the show, and the concert!
